About THE STABLES

Brycen Woodley's culinary foundation was built in the Midwest, where a respect for seasonal ingredients and time-honored traditions around the table shaped his earliest understanding of food. That foundation carried him to Richmond, where he served as Chef de Cuisine at Lemaire under Executive Chef Patrick Willis — one of the city's most decorated culinary programs.

In 2024, Chef Woodley, along with his father-in-law, Michael Schleinkofer, assumed ownership of The Stables at Belmont, a restaurant he had long called home, and began a new chapter entirely his own. His menu reflects an ingredient-driven approach to New American cuisine — one that prioritizes craft, locality, and the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel genuinely welcomed.

Private Dining & Events

Our space was intentionally designed to invoke warmth, making it ideal for both casual and celebratory gatherings.

Your celebration can be a full buyout or a multi-course evening in one of our private dining rooms. Two fully private rooms are available, each seating up to six and eight guests. For larger groups, we can convert one of our two main dining spaces to comfortably seat up to 18.

For groups wishing to dine privately with fewer than nine guests, no contracts, minimums, or deposits are required. Reservations for these rooms can be made over the phone or via email at events@thestablesrva.com.are no contracts, minimums, or deposits. We take reservations for these rooms over the phone or via email at events@thestablesrva.com

For parties of nine or more, we use a group dining contract that includes a custom, abbreviated menu, chosen by the guest, with four appetizer options and four entrée options. Full access to the dessert menu, cocktails, and wine list is standard. For these parties, a minimum food and beverage spend is outlined and will vary slightly depending on the event date and time.
